"Earth's Hour" 2013 took place in two locations of Georgia: Tbilisi Sheraton Metekhi Palace and in Batumi. With shutting of electricity for 60 minutes, participants paid the respect to the earth and joined with the most global protest of one hour against the Climate Change.
The organization of the "Earth Hour" was held together with: The Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Energy, the City Hall, the United Nations Mission in Georgia, the Caucasus Environmental Non-governmental Network, the Sheraton Metekhi Palace and Sheraton Batumi, New Lightning, Beeline, the "Georgia Today" Newspapper, and Radio Jazz FM.
It should be noted that, on March 23rd, power went off for one whole hour in key and public buildings of Tbilisi and Batumi. The electricity was turned off on the Tbilisi TV Broadcasting Tower, on Narikala, on Rustaveli and Aghmashenebeli avenues, as well as in the United Nations house and the nearby located Round Garden, the Sheraton Metekhi Palace and the Sheraton Batumi.
